My responsibilities included conducting discussion sections for math classes and teaching summer math courses. I worked as a tutor for the Joe Parsons Mathematics Tutoring lab at the University of North Carolina Asheville from August 2013 through May 2014. On the General GRE, I scored in the 89th percentile for quantitative reasoning and the 93rd percentile for verbal reasoning. I got A's in all of my undergraduate mathematics courses, except an A- in Chaos and Fractals and an A- in our Senior Seminar. I participated in the 2013 Summer Mathematics Research Experience for Undergraduates at the University of Washington. My small team of students developed an algorithm for recovery of annular electrical networks with nonlinear conductance functions.

Hobbies

I grew up doing outdoor activities with my dad such as, camping, hiking, rock climbing, skiing and mountain biking. I still do all of these things. I became particularly interested in rock climbing about ten years ago and have made it a big part of my life. I've spent a few years working and living in the Rock Climbing Mecca of Yosemite National Park and have generally shaped my life plans around climbing. Some of my most significant and memorable climbs are, The Complete North Ridge of Mt. Stuart in the Cascades, The West Face of the Leaning Tower in Yosemite, The West Ridge of Mt. Conness in the High Sierra and Vision Quest on King of Pain Tower in Indian Creek. I also enjoy sailing. I sailed competitively in Southern California on both keelboats and skiffs. The highlights include a podium finish in our class in the Newport to Ensenada race (in which I spent the midnight to sunrise shift at the helm), a Third place finish in the double handed around Catalina Island Race and the first place trophy in our class in the Dana Point Series.
